Non così lontano, il film che racconta in presa diretta la realizzazione di tre nuove vie sulle tra montane più alte e conosciute della mia regione, il Mt. Bianco, il Mt. Rosa e il Cervino, ha ricevuto nella scorsa settimana due importanti premi. Il primo a Domzale in Slovenia dove la giuria presieduta dall'alpinista Silvio Karo lo ha premiato come miglior film d'alpinismo con la seguente motivazione.

Herve' Bermasse’s film is distinguished by excellent camera work, superb music and a compelling story which blends the outstanding climbs of the author with his family’s mountain guiding tradition. The father, once a great climber himself, passes the torch to his son.

This documentary is a tribute to classical European alpinism. It does not, however, focus on history; instead it follows the author's trilogy of ascents in the Alps. From his home valley of Aosta, Hervé Barmasse climbed three famous Alpine peaks – Mont Blanc, Monte Rosa and Monte Cervinia (Matterhorn). The three climbs were made in the style of his famous ancestors who broke new ground in these mountains – with first ascents and a healthy dose of adventure.

Il secondo premio arriva invece dalla rassegna di cinema della montagna che si tiene a Mosca dal 26 al 27 Aprile. Anche in questo caso il film ha vinto il premio come miglior film nella categoria alpinismo.
