First winter enchainment of the 4 Matterhorn ridges

With the gear in my backpack whittled down to the bare minimum, a good physical shape and a lot of motivation, on March 13 2014 I accomplished the first winter solo enchainment of the four Matterhorn ridges. I had been guarding this dream of mine for a long time, when it finally came true. The large amount of snow, which had fallen more copiously than in the last years, made this ascent even more interesting and treacherous.
Moreover, like every solo climb, the hardest task is risk management. Once you’ve decided on a solo ascent, you know perfectly well that no mistakes are allowed. All your fears, uncertainties, doubts or the climbing pace rest totally on your shoulders.
Only you and the mountain, as a companion. I’m overjoyed!
