Pakistan
Up project trip One

July 2005

I left once again for Pakistan with the vain hope of being able to enter the Kondus Valley. An area of Karakoram on the Indian border and forbidden to western climbers because of the war, which for more than half a century, has split up these two countries. Unfortunately after the plane landed in Islamabad, our permit was revoked. Then my partners and I decided to go back to the Chogolisa Glacier, the same area which gave us a lot of satisfaction in 2004. After two months on expedition, I got back much more experienced: a solo climb on an untouched peak, an ice climb, a rock climb and finally the repetition of a stunning route in the Charakusa Valley. Once back home I had not yet put down my bags and I was already thinking of my next adventure.
