The first solo ascent on the route Casarotto Grassi
The solo climb of the Casarotto Grassi route has been my first important ascent in this style. Before that, I had attempted to solo just only on short rocky stretches, small walls not far from home and on low mountains but not yet on the impressive and remarkable Matterhorn. During the ascent I clipped into bolts just only for the first two lengths of the rope, then I went on untied for the remaining part of the route. As I was sure that the first mountaineers didn’t use any climbing shoes, I wore mountain boots just like my father, Augusto Tamone and Walter Cazzanelli did, the only ones who repeated the route before me.
